It's true. One of the guitars I own is a 'Frankenstein' with knobs that go to 11.
I ended up here because I was reading up on the current members of the bands on the American Carnage Tour. I watched about :25 seconds of an exercise called 5 octaves and was hooked.
I've played live plenty, went on a HUGE tour of the Denver Metro Area for a few years....

I can just as easily listen to Michael Hedges' Aerial Boundaries as I can Slayers' Seasons in the Abyss. I like syncopated delay (not always) and I favour Gilmour over Waters, Lennon over McCartney. Steve Via absolutely pissed me off when he released Alien Love Secrets. I had just gotten over 6 years of accepting Satriani and Surfing with the Alien and that dropped. Vai's solo on 'The Boy From Seattle' is........beautiful.
While I dwell in some genres more often than others, I will really try to listen to anything that is recommended, and in light of the company I've seen here so far, I expect I will find lots of interesting suggestions to consider.
I think effects are great, but just like chrome won't get you home when it comes to hot rods, I'd rather belong to the Legion of Groove.
I suppose I will be late to the party with my replies to some of the older threads I may take interest in, so I'll ask you to bear with me and laugh away my newbness.
So, yea. I jam therefor I am.
