My haulage.

Hughes Turner Project
Contains two of the most amazing vocalists in rock. Not as good as I had hoped. A lot of great vocals & harmony, but very little anything else. Some of these songs sound ancient – like 60’s rock. It’s really quite annoying.

L.A. Guns – Waking The Dead
This must be the album of their career, because it’s nigh on impossible to find a bad review for it. I’ve only given it a little listen, but it sounded pretty good. I’ll admit I was barely listening, but it ‘seemed’ to remind me of New Tattoo. (weird)

Opeth – Deliverance
Mmmmm… Opeth….

Pain Of Salvation – The Perfect Element
Simply put, Remedy Lane is about the best album I have bought in years. Hopefully this is just as amazing.

Alice Cooper – Brutal Planet
About f’king time eh?!! I had this album before it was released in Australia, but off-loaded it over a year ago. I’ve been meaning to get it again for a long time, but never did. Finally found it cheap ($9.99), plus I finally get to hear Can’t Sleep – which wasn’t included on my old copy.

Kiss – Very Best Of.
I was ‘forced’ to buy my bitch something, so I got her this. Her old man has quite a few old Kiss vinyl’s, so she’s always loved Kiss. Plus her Dad does too.. Killing birds is so easy.
It doesn’t contain Creatures Of The Night.. how gay.

Warrior - Code Of Life
I 'bought' this on Ebay. I'm cool.

What I didn’t buy.
Fozzy
Happenstance is great, so I was gonna get the debut too. Maybe next time.

Kiss – Creatures Of The Night
I want this, but am too scared to get it. 80% of Kiss is filler, and I don’t know if Creatures is any different. I do know that at least 4 songs rock, so it’s already beaten the average..

Murderdolls
Hmmm.. didn't feel like it.

Others..
Escapology and Stripped.
Besides being far too metal to buy pop, they’re probably not worth it for just one song each – Feel & Beautiful.

Happenstance is great, but they debut is even better! Make sure you get it next time. I think theres a few songs on Happenstance that I might like better than anything on the debut, but it is probably more consistant and a better album.

The only thing on Happenstance that aint good is Big Shitty Nights.

You shoulda bought Escapology. Great album - Me & My Monkey is the 2nd best song of 2002! It's not typical Robbie, it's similar to 70s Elton John in parts.

70s Elton John =

Ok.. I don't think my review is exactly 'glowing'. The album is ok, but not what I expected.

Then why the smile?
Argghh.. There it is again! Oh the confusion, woe is me. :)

Alice Cooper - Brutal Planet used to be $4.99 at every JB store around for at least 6 months

Most '80s Kiss albums don't have much filler. Paul was at his best at songwriting in this era and barely wrote a bad song (and most of the songs were written by him, Gene didn't contribute as much). And Gene had at least 1 or 2 good songs too... so only a couple of tracks were filler on each album in that era.

With Creatures Of The Night, the production is definitely the most metal they have ever been, and the drums are GREAT. So already it scores high points there. It also has more energy and attitude than any other Kiss release...

Songwise, the following songs are awesome: Creatures Of The Night, War Machine, Keep Me Comin', Rock & Roll Hell, Danger, I Love it Loud, I Still Love You. The only 2 fillers are Saint & Sinner which sucks, and Killer, but Killer is pretty good... it is just the opening lines which really suck and ruin the song how it comes in. Sounds crap. When the song kicks in, it's pretty good.

Lick It Up is a more consistent album, but the production and energy are toned down a bit.

I haven't heard the debut. I think Happenstance is a bit dodgy though.... the production really sucks (waaaaaaaay too stiff), and his voice only works on some songs. Big City Nights, Balls To The Wall and a couple of others sound really good with that production and his vocals are good....

But "LOVE Machine" ... oh my god, words can't describe how much they BUTCHERED that song. And a few others like Freewheel Burnin' etc just sound too stiff.

The originals are better than the covers (with the exception of Big City Nights and Balls To The Wall).
