My latest mix (death/grind)

Sounds way too wet for my taste. The whole mix is really distant. But otherwise it seems to sound pretty good.

oh yeah, sorry. I didn't even think of that.

:loco:

Usually my mixes have been said to be too dry, and I've been working with learning to use reverb tastefully to open up the music a bit.

I may have gone overboard with this mix.

For some reason I like it, personally, but value the criticisms others will place on it.

The only tracks with reverb on them are snare and lead vocals.

Tom tracks were sampled by the client and they wanted them to stay, and they do sound pretty roomy.

holy shit is it official "everyone post really fucking incredible clips on sneap forum" day?
shits good.

also, i prefer "WOSfinal.wav" sounds slightly more upfront to my ears.

Their guitarist tracked it. He used a 7 string with a DiMarzio Blaze, IIRC. Amp is a XXX into a V30 or Eminence Legend cab miked with a single 57 into a UA Solo 610 pre and quad tracked. I did the standard HP/LP at 75Hz and 12KHz. A few EQ cuts in various places (600Hz, around 3kHz, etc.) to reduce some fizz.
