It's not Day of the Dead gory, but then, what Zombie flick is? Put it this way, it's a well balanced movie.

True dat. But Braindead FX were pretty ridiculously funny, whereas DotD had those Tom Savini stomach churning moments. Last 30 minutes are spectacular no doubt, but there are other moments scattered throughout: Dr Frankensteins lab experiments, when the zombies break loose, rip that guy's throat out, and then bite into Sarah's boyfriend's arm that, 2 minutes later, gets amputated and burned, etc. \m/

Best Day of the Dead zombie killing: Spade shoved in the mouth to split upper head away from rest of body, only for the eyes to continue to function...
