No Care Ever
i've started using real amps more and more at my new building. Hopefully the tones are getting better haha. Just finished up a full length for this band today(minus the vocals).

tracked with pod farm, then reamped through a Radial ProRMP->maxon OD808->freshly re-tubed 5150-> mesa OS 4x12->single sm57->API A2D pre

Sounds like a really well balanced tone man. It sounds nice and smooth but still has enough snap and high end to cut through well.

The whole mix is pretty awesome to be honest.

Good stuff. :)

Awesome tone man. I can definitely tell that from the guitars by themselves, but I do agree that it needs more definition. The guitars get a bit buried in the mix. Maybe closer to the dustcap? What was the mic position?

I dont suppose the drums are slate are they? or are they real? the kick reminds me of slate the most.

The tone is awesome, im getting a loan soon, and this makes me consider getting a 5150 to sit ontop of my dual rec

Edit: Went on your myspace, clearly theyre real drums! Excellent job!

and Brian mix the vocals in. I want to hear that song in its final version:)

their singer had to fly home for a family emergency, so they are recording the vocals themselves back in Arizona:erk: kinda worried there haha

I always love your tones man!

How much mids you got going on the 5150 for this one?

Love it!

the mids are at 4 actually  I have the lows in 10 and the highs on 7 though, so i guess it kind of evens out.

Are you saying thats alot of mids?

The more and more i play my 5150.....but more i like MORE mids. Everyone says keep the mids on 2. But i like them around 4 or 5.

Where was the mic on this clip? Center? Off center?

yeah that's a lot of mids for me. I always have it on 2, and people are like "are you sure it's on 2? It still sounds honky"

the mic position was about half on the dustcap, 1 inch from the grill

Dude this mix is class, that's really similar to the guitar tone that I try to get with my amp sim's.
I think I'd like to hear a bit more bass guitar in the mix it seems a little bit tame to me. The drums sound great that's a whopper kick and snare.

Sounds fantastic man, I would prefer slightly less mids to open it up a bit (feels slightly dense now IMO) but I really dig it overall!
