Thanks for the replies guys. It was expensive and I have spent the last year researching, reading reviews, listening to samples/opinions (i was reading this board for many months before I posted), etc... so it wasn't entered into lightly. I can't afford to throw money around like that so I hope I have made the right decision.
I had tried the Krankenstein twice now in a couple of different Cab's (to see the vast difference a cab makes, Crate, Line6, Krank Rev and Mesa). I had tried the Revolution and preferred its sound. Yesterday I A/B'd the Revolution/Krankenstein into the Krank Revolution Cab and Mesa Traditional and I preferred the Revolution into the Mesa. The Krank cab was nice and tight, but sounded too mid-scooped and fizzier compared to the Mesa (to my nOOb ears anyway). The Mesa just gave some more punch (is the best way I could describe it) and was smoother. The Revolution head sounded fuller and less buzzy to my ears. The Krankenstein sounded thinner and grainier. Don't get me wrong I am not bagging the Krank Cab and Krankenstein, it's just the Rev and Mesa sounded better to me, probably a bit more versatile as well. As far as samples, I am waiting for a THD Hotplate to arrive next week so it will be less offensive to record at home. I put my 57 in front yesterday and recorded a nice clean sample (but that's not what anybody wants to hear

). You just have to have it too loud to get a saturated tone so I am hoping the hotplate will help out (don't worry I am not going to record it with -16dB attenuation, just quieten it a bit). I will be having a jam next weekend (probably just me and my mate on drums) so I might throw a mic on it then without the hotplate. FarBeyondMetal the head was $3100 and Poidaobi the Mesa Traditional was $2200. I know this is expensive, but I have spent the last couple of years trying to get a nice tube-like tone out of modellers (GT-8 and GNX3000 which came much closer than the GT-8 due to the Warp feature) coupled with solid-state amps and wasn't happy. My wife told me that this was to be my last gear purchase so I went big.
Well there's my mini review, once again thanks for all the replies and advice. Now I can practice some more instead of tweak tone.
