My TAMA snare drum samples

Hi everyone! Sampled my tama snare drum during last recording session.
The snare is TAMA metal works -> SM57 top&bottom->RME Octamic->PT LE 8

All hits are cut properly and recorded with different dynamics from crack to soft. About 20 samples in total. Unprocessed.

What size is this? I have the 14x5.5" and it's a fantastic snare for the money. I prefer it over my walnut Black Panther!

Great that you liked it. It is 5.5x14. It is realy tight but very sensetive to playing. Never sounded good enough with a weak drummer. Any instrument sounds better with a good musician though ))

Funny you say that, as mine is actually my preferred snare for drummers that hit like wimps because it's a loud as fuck snare. Obviously sounds better being hit hard though. Rim shots on this snare will tear your head off!

may depend of tuning and room. My room is pretty damped, over damped I would say )) So Everything sounds not so loud as it could be in the room with more reflections.
BTW forgot to say, samples are stereo files because they have a little (-10-12db) overhead and room mics blended with close mics. So I suggest to use them in stereo and to not split in to mono.
