oh and another thing: Deep Purple kicks ass! And even now, they still kick ass, I saw them live last year with Steve Morse and they were awesome :)
Hell yeah DP rules! My band covered Highway Star at a show last week, it was the most fun I've had in ages. That keyboard solo just rocks my life.

An addition to my list: Deep Purple - Space Truckin'.
Yeaaaahhh yeaaaahh yeaaaahhh space truckin'!

1.Master of Puppets (Metallica)
2.Inferno (SymphonyX)
3.Deliverance (Opeth)
4.The glass prison (Dream Theater) CBB, CBB CBB, CBB...
5.Fallen (SymphonyX)

...and more...

Emanuele

1. Symphony X- Wicked (intro, verse)
2. Megadeth - Holy Wars (intro, verse)
3. King Diamond - The Family Ghost (intro, verse)

and gotta have a differen kinda riff

4. Opeth - Fair Judgement (outro, one of the most powerful make you want to commit mass ritual murder riffs ever)

Almost everything on the Blackwater Park song by Opeth, especially the 5:13 one and that... erh... mixed with acoustic guitars (after "taunting their bereavement"). The acoustic part of Demon of the Fall (and the chorus too). What else? Oh, yeah, Serenity Painted Death.

Hm... the intro of Born in a Mourning Hall by Blind Guardian.

I can't... remember more.
