The song is great and everything and I can't wait for the album and the single but isn't it a little early to be releasing a preview more than 2 months before the release.Only the anticipation is enough to burn the weak minded.
Then again maybe someone will pull a "Ghost Reveries" stunt and kill the anticipation.in either case it suck for the band and suck for the fans.

The key change being the progression of "the one that's placed you above us all", to "who once placed you above us all", then "do what has placed you above us all". This subtlety seems much more akin to jonas's stylke of writing, I'm not sure about the rest of the lyrics but I'm pretty sure the content of this version nails the inteded meaning closer to what Katatonia were planning.

Anyway let me know what you guys think, I would be very interested to hear.

Peace and love to all you with the good (or should i say similiar) taste in music, for those who find Katatonia depressing, can I suggest you take comfort in knowing that the feelings you have are not excusive to you, that they are prominent enough in all our lives to be worth singing about. I am filled with faith that there are so many people out there capable of connecting to there emotions and I expect are subsequently capable of living a life of enlightenment and happiness.

I've have listen to the song for over a 100 times now. And after reading all your lyrics it's time for me to post my own. It's not really anything new, but just a mix of what I believe to be the most likely correct parts.

Hurray for me... a friend of mine got his hands on the promo cd, don't ask my how or why, I don't know,but there's a punch to it.
He listened to the whole cd and said that every song on that promo has that announcer 3 or 4 times during every song.
I asked him to rip and send me just "my twin" since I already heard most of the song and has the announcer anyway so no harm no foul.
what can I say?A great song, slighty better quality and finally I got to hear the faded part from the sample on the site and of course...."you are listening to My twin from the forthcoming Katatonia album...."

I would hope not. I've worked at record shops and it's really easy to hear music before it's released through promos. I think you went about this the right way by saying it was through a promo. Record labels release promos to be heard, so you shouldn't get punished for that. I personally am going crazy waiting to hear this album.

Is It just me or does "My twin" heavily influenced by A Cerfect Circle and Dream Theater?

i agree with the a perfect circle thing. Although the dream theater bit might have daniel coming in and we shall have a repeat of who thinks of dream theater and katatonia I personally dont. But i really am craving for this album.

The clean guitar riff which starts "my twin" sounds a little like beginning of Change of seasons.

I have listened to their new song a million times and I love it.Every time it keeps getting better. The melody is so like Katatonia plus the lyrical part.

I definitely agree with this, the thing that struck me most actually while listening to 'My Twin' was the fantastic bass playing, big thumbs up to Mattias.
