My very first impulses!... totally suck!

Also deconvolver settings can have large impact on impulse. Impulse length in Voxengo Deconvolver depends on length difference between test signal and recorded response.

I used Reaper's built in convolution, and even though the room came out fine and usable, I wonder if that one was screwed up too.

I would better suggest to use Voxenego deconvolver. Demo version allow somewhere 3 deconvolution in one session.
Always be sure that recorded wav file is at least 0.0000000000000001ms longer than sweep (than longer sweep than more precise impulse should be).

I don't really know what the clip is showing, it keeps switching. My first impulses sucked too, lol, it's hard to make IRs that sound like the tone they are supposed to be sampling. Making impulses is a lot like taking a math test, there's only really one right way to do it, and only practice will help you do it right. I've never used Reapers' deconvolver, so I don't know if that is an issue. I had equal frustrations just starting out using Voxengo, so I think it's method rather than tools, but nowadays Voxengo gives me zero issues and I get accurate IRs.

I should have clarified, the first tone is the Mic'd setup. The shittier, fizzier, hollow one it switches with is the impulse. It goes back to the Mic tone, and then back to the impulse for comparison. My apologies.
