i don't know... there's something about grown men in furry boots singing about this stuff and taking themselves seriously... it's like someone who enjoys star trek but also enjoys making fun of the (generalized) nerdy, serious trekkies; maybe it's because, like trekkies, manowar simply overdo it... but there's no reason it shouldn't be funnier than rob darken standing in a lighted forest with a sword and corpse paint (which is also hella-funny)... but i mean, look at them...

Because Manowar are basically cartoon characters who embody every last stereotype that causes people to think of metal as entertainment for morons, prance around like they're the heaviest thing on earth in all their delusional bombast, and of course we all laugh at the homoerotic subtext involved. And don't lump LOTR in with them!
