I think this is the most overrated black metal album of all-time.
Not only musically, from a lyrical point of view, the album is pathetic. "When Burzum killed Mayhem" being a prime example of dear Kanwulf scoring ‘true’ points as he reminisces of the tragic day that Varg killed Euronymous and how he felt personally, as dramatic and exaggerated as he makes it out to be. After all, he was friends with the two wasn’t he... oh wait, no, nevermind. He wasn’t even into black metal until a few years later.

Some of the songs are ok. But what makes this album so bad is how unoriginal it is. He obvious just rips off other, much more established bands. And beyond that, you can even hear which specific song he is ripping off on some of the tracks.
I've always though that he was a mediocre musician at best, and I'll agree that this is probably the most overrated black metal album. The lyrics are especially bad, and a good example of this is the title track.
