A completely self contained setup with POD guitars, triggered Steven Slate Drums, Pro Tools backing tracks. The FOH and 4 IEM mixes are done from a Macbook Pro

Fucking sick as shit. Gave me massive ideas as to what I am going to do with my bands backing tracks, in ear monitor mixes and drum replacement.

Brilliant.

My plans are to do the same with RME UFX/TotalmixFX and a Macbook so we can have complete and separate in-ear mixes (if needed). If we had our sound guy on tour, we could get a drive rack and send a stereo bus to the FOH much like this.

Sweet. until I heard the music I thought it was going to be some mind blowing futuristic hyper metal...then Disney bubble gum pop came out of the sea like Cthulhu and tore my ship to shreds.

Yeah, saw those rigs couple of times. A&H iLive consoles is very cheap and good sounding, and if you work with musicians with in-ears and don't really need floor wedges then you can mix FOH from laptop. DANTE routing is not that complicated, and let me tell you, when you slap your favorite plug-ins on your live channels, your life suddenly gets better :)

PS And don't forget, you can automate EVERYTHING. Change of presets on PODs, effects sends/returns etc. just like in studio

You should see Darkane's in-ear rack, 1000% better band, just as awesome of a rack.
Peter has a touch screen on where he controls all settings and can start backing track etc.

Is it possible to see it online as the video posted by the OP?

This is just awesome ...

But i would get very nervous if i don't have a console where i can quickly mute or unmute a channel incase something goes wrong. But i imagine it would be possible to hook a control surface to the DANTE network.

It is. I would be more nervous that one of the more vital components would fail, and you wouldn't have a show

Fun story for you guys:

I saw this video some time last week and I showed it to one of my coworkers at Guitar Center (I work in the Pro Audio department, so we both share nerdy stuff with each other).

Today I was helping out a customer who was looking for one of those M-Audio Midisports for his rig. He said he was plugging it into his Roland V-Drums that he was running Slate Drums off a Mac Mini on. The similarities were incredible, so I asked if this was part of a big rack he put together for a pop star.

Both him and the guy he was with started laughing, apparently this video has gotten around to quite a few people. We talked for an hour or so about gear and his rack and stuff. He seems to be unhappy with the POD tones that he's getting and is considering swapping them out (I threw out the Digitech GSP1101 as a possibility).

Just thought I'd share a nerdy moment with you guys!
