Neck Pickup Question - Rhtyhm Guitars

I've been watching some Metallica studio videos and seems like for rhythm guitar they are using the neck pickup. I've always been using the bridge for everything leads rhythm mainly because I record DI's and just use an amp sim to record. And reamp later.

But I am going for more of a modern rock tone (breaking benjamin) anyways and was just wondering who here uses the neck pickup for rhythms, what pickups are u using, and if any major bands use neck pickups for their rhtyhms.

Welll if someone wanted a mushy/fat sound for their rhythm, use the neck pickup.

For groovier bands I love using the neck pickup on 2 of the 4 guitar tracks. Brings the fatness and roundness into the tone. Of course you have to bring down the gain a bit and EQ it differently, but it's one of my favorite techniques to avoid buzzy/thin/grating guitarsounds.
