Need a very cheap bass

I really need a cheap bass for my own use, i'm in no way a bass player but i need it for recording demo material.

Any suggestions? I'm looking in the price range £0-£130

I'm guessing looking for something old and beaten up that still works is the best idea

I was looking at the same idea myself and there are loads on gumtree in that price range. I'd certainly go that route over a new one, but the new squire basses aren't meant to be all that bad at all

I quite like the cheap yamaha basses around that price. As Norris said it's best to go second hand if you've not got alot of cash.

Get one of these. I've got one of their basses (not this model) and for the money it's very well made indeed. Easily as good as anything you'll find in the 100-300 price range.

I was looking at Rondomusic, and i would definitely buy from them but the cost of shipping to the uk, combined with possible import duties, is just too much

the gsr ibanez basses are fairly solid !!

also my bass by vintage is a really good 5 string and cost me £100 brand new

We've recorded at least 2 Vintage branded basses and been pleasantly surprised at the tone both time.
