Hey guys,got a new computer just for my music.I have a question about the drives. It's got two 250 gb drives plus I have a 160 gb external.How do you set yours up as far as apps. and plugins, saving songs.Do you put certain things on certain drives? Thanks

I have 3 internal drives :
Drive 1 - 250G = C drive (50G) Windows/Apps/Plugins......D drive (200G) Files>Midi;Cubase;MP3;Presets etc....
Drive 2 - 250G = E drive - Samples
Drive 3 - 320G = F drive (30G) Scratch Audio (small for Defrag times) ......G drive (280G) Final Audio (final mixes etc)

I have two internal and one external.
HD1: os/programs/samples/plugins
HD2: backup
HD3(external): audio.
HD1: os/programs/samples/plugins
HD2: backup
HD3(external): audio.
If I had two drives I would have C:/ with my plugins/audio software and the D:/ with my Audio files/Samples. If you use a ton of samples and a lot of audio tracks it might be better to have them on seperate drives though if you think things are getting bottlenecked by both of them coming off the same drive. In reality it's better to have a drive with your audio apps, a drive with your audio files and a drive with your samples if you're going to be doing a lot of mixing.

I have the same settup as Noumenon (internal doing OS/programs....) except that I have 2 externals.
