hey folks,
i am gonna take a shot in the dark here as this seems to be a fairly complicated problem, but who knows...
i recently bought a copy of cubase 5 and built an all new DAW.
the system is fairly powerful (Quad 9550 2.86 ghz, 4 GB ram, dedicated hard drives for projects and windows, etc).
now , everything works great with cubase 5 until i try to load about 5-6 plugins/vst/etc. when i try to do this, although the system is not pushing to the max at ALL (its running nice and smooth) cubase throws me a "serious problem has occured" window, and the log file says ACCESS_VIOLATION.

now, i've done all kinds of windows optimization tricks, there's absolutely nothing on this computer but music software...
i just don't know where the problem is.
this is really slowing me down, could anybody help?
pretty please...? :)

thanks in advance

I had that problem also,if you use a 32 bit o.s
It has to do with memory limitation.
You can do a 3gb switch that worked for me.
See the cubase forum for more information about that.
I hope this helps.

thank you so much man...
you absolutely saved my life
thank you :)
from the bottom of my heart

yeah man, i did the 3gb switch and things seem to run flawlessly now.
i didn't have much time to actually test things, but i threw like 8 vst's on cubase and it took them all
without any problems.
anyway thank you so much :)
