Hey guys, I host a heavy metal show at my college radio station and I need a bunch of intrumentals to do a 4 hour show. I know you guys can help.
Aside from the metallica ones, which I think are some of the best metal instrumentals. I'm thinking:

Metallica's instrumentals
Megadeth's duke nukem theme
Iced Earth - 1776
God forbid - God's last gift
Inflames...something of jester race

Hit me my niggas

Liquid Tension Experiment - Paradigm Shift
Behold...The Arctopus - Exospacial psionic Aura
Agalloch - Odal
Andromeda - Chameleon Carnival
Pelican - Sirius

yeah...the only bands I know of that don't use instrumentals as segues between songs are power/prog metal bands, tech metal and post rock.

also Windham Hell have a bunch of instrumentals and things of that sort. jesus...4 hours of instrumentals?

windir - dans pa stemmerhaugen
megadeth - into the lungs of hell
the last 1:40 0f satyricons - vikingland
korpiklaani - juokse sinä humma
burzum - det som en gang var
borknagar - matter and motion, inner landscape

slower ones:

katatonia - elohim meth
borknagar - embers
windir - soge 1 and 2, norrøn seier

fuck, can't think anymore

I don't think any of these have been done before. I'm bored, and a chunk if this is copied from other forums. Have a good show:

Agalloch - The Lodge, The Hawthorne Passage
Ares Kingdom - None Escape
Arghoslent - Incorrigible Bigotry
Burzum - Gebrechlichkeit .II
Cannibal Corpse - From Skin to Liquid

Dimmu Borgir - Perfection or Vanity
Emperor - The Wanderer, Opus a Satana
Extol - Where Sleep is Rest
Gordian Knot - almost anything...
Hopesfall - Lament, The Frailty of Words
Horna - Zythifer
Inquisition - Into the Infernal Regions of the Ancient Cult
In Flames - Dreamscape, Wayfaerer, Dialogue with the Stars, Man Made God, The Jester's Dance

Opeth - Epilogue, Ending Credits
Quo Vadis - Dream
Sepultura - Inquisition Symphony
Slaughter - Cult of the Dead
Vlad Tepes - Raven's Hike, Wladimir's March
Whiplash - Ticked to Mayhem
Winds - Premonition

Edit: removed The Chasm because of previous post

Eh, this has vocals/lyrics.

yeah, i'm lunching. but still, the song is so long, condense the metal portions without lyrics and wa-la?

fuck it, forget i ever put that there. :p

that can be done with lots of songs though, that have a signifigant amount of vocal-less music. just cut em' down.

MetalHeadMark, are these songs going to be played in their entirety? or are they for voice overs or something?

Enslaved - Secrets of the Flesh

Opeth - Epilogue

anything by The Fucking Champs

Testament - Urotsukidoji

Anthrax - Intro to Reality (only if you're really grasping for straws)

S.O.D. - March of the S.O.D. (short but sweet)

Honestly, why would you post part of a song? There are probably literally a million metal songs that have a chunk of music that length sans vocals. I'm so confused.

Anyway, no one mentioned Xasthur - A Curse for the Lifeless, Instrumental, and Lurking in Silence. Also Blut Aus Nord - Procession of the Dead Clowns and Enslaved - Norvegr.

Into the lungs of hell, cosmic sea :headbang:

Cynic - Textures, this makes me panic for some reason haha, i imagine the sun setting in a city park, couples relaxing, the riff at 2.04 is like an impending doom that re-occurs a few times through out the song before 2.44 when the guitar comes in and it sounds like the world coming to an end and then i really panic haha.

Annihilator - Liquid Oval
Atheist - Samba Briza (get out the maraccas boys:loco: )
At The Gates - And the world returned, Into the dead sky
Decrepit Birth - Of Genocide (best snare ever :headbang:)
Dissection - Feathers fell
Dream theatre - Erotomania, Overture 1928, The dance of eternity
Gorguts - Clouded (if you want your listeners to die slowly)
In Flames - Palla Anders Visa, Dreamscape, Hargalaten, The Jesters dance, Acoustic medley, Wayfaerer
Intestine Baalism - Burn though in effigy, A keen
Judas priest - The Hellion (YEAHHH, but then you "have to" play electric eye)
Lamb of god - Ashes of the wake (radio man doesn't count, it's instrumental)
Manowar - William's Tale ( it's a bass solo but... oow yeah)
Morbid Angel - Doomsday Celebration (for friday 13th sacrifices) In remembrance (to honour the sacrifice...) and stick drum check in for good measure.
Pestilence - every 2nd song on Testimony of the ancients :p
Sigh - Impromptu
Symphony x - The Odyssey, Divine wings of tragedy (haha shit, forgot theres singing, damn long bastards)
Testament - Confusion Fusion (acid trip wowo:zombie: )
Signs of chaos (for the pwnage wankery)
The chasm - From the curse, A scourge (can't believe how much this album intro owns)

.. many of the above +
Alchemist - Eve of War (its a cover, but its killer)
Coroner - Intro+Nosferatu
Setenced - 0132
Mortal Sin - The Curse (although, much like the Hellion, its an intro, which should be followed by "Women in Leather")
At the Gates - The Scar

anything by Arghoslent or The Chasm which are instrumentals also rule.

Good call, it's my fave off the album and was the first instrumental that popped into my head.

Nice description too.... :kickass:

There is a russian band called Dark Mass - who has the album Dark Mass Medium, which is entirely instrumental metal.

At the Gates - Flames of the End

and to slow it down a little....At the Gates - And the World Returned

also Epilogue is a little to emotional probably for a metal show :)

Both versions of Transylvania by Iron Maiden and Iced Earth are instrumental right? You could do like a compare and contrast thing. Hahaha

When eternity echoes - Suidakra
From the curse, A Scourge - The Chasm
Procession to the Infraworld - The Chasm
Incorrigible Bigotry - Arghoslent
Tomorrow turned to Yesterday - Nevermore (clean vocals)
