Need help identifying/getting info on this vintage guitar

So my father in-law inherited this:

Here is what I know:
It is a Kay Guitar. It was obtained by his father in 1954. No serial number or model number as far as i can tell.
I've googled and found many images of similar Kay guitars but none that match this one. ALSO OF NOTE: The white on the body is actually a pickguard.
Any help or info on it is appreciated.

Not really. It's more of a toy than an instrument. I got it at a local flea market on the cheap, knowing what it was, and then sold it a few months later. It's cool for a real lo-fi kinda tone, but that's about it. As you can imagine, that bridge doesn't allow for intonation worth a shit.

Yeah I tried to play it and had to tune it like 50 times.... also the neck is so fucking thick its ridiculous.
A nifty piece of nostalgia none the less.
