Animals...
Fermented Dingo?
Rabid Wombat
Dying Hippo
Blaspheming Raccoon

But seriously...

You can always combine some of these words:
Dark
Shadow
Vile

with random words. Things that sound metal include castles, thrones, swords, cathedrals, etc.

I just realized that Shadowsword would lend itself to a really cool logo.

Take a name from your favorite book if you can't think of anything. For example (and don't use this one, it's mine) Winterfell.

oh, you don't want it to be clear that it's a metal band?

that makes it harder...
actually, easier.
Take any noun and add "the" to the front.
or
Have something funny happen, summarize it in a couple words, and call your band that.

As it turns out, I have a note pad of potential titles on my desk, and I don't intend to use them, so feel free to take one. They're all biology related though, so sorry if that's not your thing. I agree with you on the gore thing though, I'm not into that either. I want to focus on evolution and natural history, hence my own title.

Autotomy - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autotomy

Kamikaze Acrosome - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acrosome

Prostatic Congestion - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostatic_congestion

Stimulating the Chromatophore - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromatophore

The Synaptic Cleft - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synaptic_cleft

I finally remembered the title I was trying to recall earlier. However, I wasn't going to use it for tech death, I was going to suggest it to the next 14 year old n00b on the TabIt forums to ask us for help naming his amazing new pop punk band.

Flatus Eruptus - http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Flatus&redirect=no

Synaptic Cleft is actually quite good.

Are all your names taken from biology textbooks?
I'm gonna say you're either a premed student or a biology major.

Yeah, pretty much all of those are from a class, text book, or one of the Discovery networks.

I'm actually a psychology major, but my concentration is in sexual and evolutionary psychology. If I go to grad school, my grad work will probably be something to do with evolutionary musicology, actually. In fact, I'm taking my last three classes for my major this semester and I already finished all the credits that I need for my zoology minor last year. I only have one gen ed requirement left to finish before I graduate, so I'll probably receive my degrees after the summer session or in December, depending on when the two remaining classes are available.

It was actually my favorite one too, so I'm glad you guys like it. I was also going to suggest Nodes of Ranvier, but it's taken :(

EDIT: Oh, and about Flatus Eruptus, I think my original idea was actually Flutus Interruptus

EDIT2:
ah
considering psych myself.
It's actually one of the most common majors in the US right now, so unless you're going into an experiemental field with the intention of being a professor, becoming a certified clinical psychologist, or working abroad, you might as well just double major in education and be a high school teacher.

As for me, I'm the experimental field guy, except that I lack the GPA for grad work, so I'm going to have to settle for work in a completely unrelated field for a while :(

EDIT3: Personally, I prefer The Synaptic Cleft, because it refers to a specific neuro-anatomical feature. I generally don't like it when bands have "the" in their title, but this is an exception.

Also, Nodes of Ranvier is not very good and their songs have nothing to do with neuro-anatomy. Posers

...but I can throat sing.
That's kind of like saying you just can't sing ;)
Hey guys I been practicing growling lyrics. When I use to growl I couldn't get any distortion well mucus in my growls and I think I am getting a little so thats progress for me. I know its not the greatest but I only did one take. http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/1093972_awvfv/sun.mp3
I didn't like this one as much, but for one take it isn't too bad. I think your second one is the best so far.

Actually, I might try to record my own growls at some point, but it probably won't be very good, since I live in a dorm and will be doing it under my breath

Hey do you any idea how to do high pitched gutturals outward. Idiots call them brees. I am not sure how to slip the high frequencies into my growl.
