I've quit figured out how to make fairly good kick samples...
Only a snare still gives me nightmares...i wanna try to also make my snare samples to ok quality to use....

I can get you some samples of the D4 somewhere this weekend..

Some things to think about:

Always use a new head & tune the snare low enough that you start to feel it between your legs. Hit it hard - don't play like a girl. Blend multiple mics - top / bottom / shell / overheads, and don't be afraid to use extreme processing. This is sample-creation, not classical music.

Would anyone be opposed to setting up a folder in the ftp for just drum samples? That way when looking for samples, we could just log in and see what was new, etc.

i sampled lots of different snares. Chad Smith, Vinne Paul, some other Pearl snares and some Tama Snares. the are on the Forum FTP in my map. go check em out

Ronnie's samples are fantastic, and they are unprocessed to boot, so you can do whatever you want with them. Highly recommended. Some great snares in there... the Ian Paice, Vinnie Paul and Pearl Sensitone have to be my favorites.
