please incorporate skill, as well as ability to write touching music in your vote thanks, i would have to say my vote goes to jason becker because, he has been my favorite guitar player for years

I picked Michael Romeo. I can't get into Malmsteen. To me his stuff isn't as diverse as Romeo's and gets boring to me.

Yngwie is the most important, has an incredible magic touch but seems not very interesting once you have heard his best few songs.

Romeo is an incredible composer and highly skilled axe man

The rest Im less fimiliar with because I never really heard much that musically grabed me in the first place, lots of shred city.

Uli would probably be one I might try some older recordings from because he still focused on expression rather than flurry

i thought about incorporating him, but i dont have enough experience with him honestly to judge, ive listened to tons of rhapsody and his solo stuff, but i just dont think he does it compared to guys like becker and romeo thats just my opinion i guess just say anybody you think should be up

Out of that list I easily choose Uli Jon Roth.

Luca may be overlooked simply because he's had his playing take a bit of a backseat over the years and tried to establish himself strictly as a composer. Despite the stale sounding newer material, however, he's certainly written some brilliant stuff in the old Rhapsody and LT solo albums, and when he stretches himself out as a soloist, he puts out some incredibly memorable leads.

I'd vote for Becker, but he didn't release enough for me to truly think I can vote on him.
Uli Jon Roth because he didn't go stagnant at all unlike Malmsteen or Stump.
He seems to just inject more variation into his playing.

We might not be listening to ANY of these players if it weren't for Uli Roth. He's the most complete guitarist I've ever heard, from authentic Flamenco, to beautiful, Hendrix-style blues, to neo-classical shred. This guy can can do it all, and he writes great music. Check out Scorpions "The Sails of Charon". One of my favorite solos ever.
My second pick would be Vinnie Moore, who I believe is superior to Malmsteen or Becker in the songwriting department. Those guys are obviously very gifted technically, but their music is lacking compositional strength. It's the same difference you hear between Paganini, who Malmsteen cites as his biggest influence, and Bach, who both Uli and Vinnie have cited as probably their biggest influence.
