The other day this band added me to myspace. I liked their myspace design so I took a listen to their (so far) only song. There was something very weird about the sound of the guitars and bass (probably), but I thought it was the intro, kind of a techno sound. Then I realised the whole thing is intended to sound like this. At first I was like WTF?, but I have to say I got really hooked.

What do you think? http://www.myspace.com/neosisofficial

"At first I was like WTF?, but I have to say I got really hooked."

Pretty much what I'm thinking too, though I wouldn't listen to them 24/7. They remind me of Sybreed a bit, but pushed to the extreme. If you don't know them, I'm pretty sure you'd like them!

I really like that song, just listened to it four times in a row...
Funny how several bands immediately came to my mind (as possible influences), and then I saw most of them in their top friends (like Meshuggah, Necrophagist, Periphery).

The production is indeed quite weird and I think it could sound alot better while still maintaining the vibe they were obviously going for.
Now, I guess this is only a demo and therefore they might improve quite a bit. Maybe they could have Bulb produce their full length, that would be a good fit in my book... :)

Yeah, I think it is just a demo as there is no info of an album or anything. I also think it could and will sound better eventually, but it's damn catchy, hahaha. I'm betting Meshuggah is the main influence as well as Necrophagist, like Fifth_horseman said.

Gonna check Sybreed out

They definitely didnt spare the horses with the myspace design. The custom player is pretty nifty. Not a fan of the sound, style or sonics, guess I isnt a djent guy.

Pretty cool, music has to evolve someway or another right? lol... A little more bass freq in the kick drum and lower tuned snare and it would be stellar!

i will say that i dont like this specific incarnation

but in generations to come, music constructed like this will be popular and will be commonly accepted.

it is inevitable with technology.

Inevitable that all mixes in the future will sound like this? no bass and shit kick sounds  If thats true, I might as well give up trying to be a AE now haha
