What gives with this dude? We know he's not that into Christianity, but this latest spiel is just ... too much. They have a new album coming out in May, and it is ... cringe, to say the least. The title is The Shit ov God and they've really gone overboard with the "replace U for V" shit they're so fond of. But really, is this upsetting anyone these days? Hey Nerg, old boy, we love you and your old stuff is still gold, but why don't you release an album called The Ass Rape of Mohammed and then tour the ME and Near East, starting with Saudi Arabia, then Qatar, then Pakistan and Afghanistan. Be sure to get top Taliban Akhundzada front row tickets. Then, if you're still alive, finish with North Africa. I'm sure this will all go down well.

*sigh*

Yeah, the song is crap and the lyrics are even worse. It's been worse and worse ever since the album after The Satanist.

Anyways, why should he write about Islam if the prevailing religion in his country is Catholicism? It wouldn't make much sense to write about a religion that does not concern him and that he does not know much about.

Behemoth has been irrelevant to me for almost a decade now. However, they always put on a good live show, and kudos for that.

Q: I noticed the usage of ‘v’ instead of ‘f’ in song titles, why is that?

Nergal: Why not? That’s the perfect answer. Its avant-guardish. It gives it a mystical approach, and its very unusual. Instead of doing something everyone does, it’s a bit different from everyone else. There are a few bands that use it, that use ‘v’ instead of ‘f’, but not many. Some occult societies use it too.

When anonymous musicians who play anti-Islamic music start publicly owning their material then maybe I'll take people seriously who cry about how Christianity is an easy target.

Nergal is cringe but he's also been harassed by the Polish state (a majority-Catholic country btw) for most of his career due to their gay blasphemy laws. Unlike some retard in the Anglosphere whining about being censored, Behemoth actually gets harassed by the law for their antics.

I'm Polish and what you're saying is true about Poland being a majority Catholic country, however, people do not really practice the religion. It's been waning the last couple of years, so you cannot really say that religion holds strong in Poland anymore. It used to in 2000s, though, and that is when Nergal started doing his over-the-top anti-religion stuff in the press, music videos, etc.

@no country for old wainds, can you by any chance find his account on here?

Kinda seems like it's still an issue.

You've all got good points. I know Nergal's been clashing with authorities in his native country. I can respect him fighting for freedom of speech, if that's what it's all about. It's just that this latest stuff feels very cliche. And of course I'm not expecting them to go on a tirade against islam anytime soon, that would be foolish. Playing metal alone could cost you dearly in some of those (shithole) countries.

Hahah, Sweden shouldn't raise its voice discussing (shithole) countries and problems with Muslims at all :).

The only Muslims there are in Poland are the descendants of the Tatars and illegal migrants who succeeded at crossing the border with Belarus a couple of years ago. I'm 27 and I've never come across any Muslim in PL.

You know what? You're completely right. We've been heading in a dangerous direction for decades now. But ordinary Swedes (mostly of the non-imported kind) are fed up. Major discontent is brewing. Let's see if our so-called government takes a leaf out of Keir Stalin, oops, Starmer's book and tries to suppress these expressions of anger.
