I searched..and i didnt find any thread about it. So i bought it 2 days ago from a store here (because as you know metal stores here rule more than the metal stores in your country) and i've heard it almost 10 times.
I definetally enjoy it a LOT more than EOR, and i dont find the weak moments that DHIADW had. Hell.. i even like The Final Product now (i didnt when they played it live here). The album kinda proves my theory : Nevermore HAD to have a second guitar player on the album recordings, in order to create someting special.
Of course it's too early to have a final opinion about it, all i can say is that i can consider it a "comeback" meaning that they brought back what intrigued me in the pre-DHIADW albums - complexity, depth in the compositions, inspirement, more soulfull music, intense moments and the will to create something non comformistic. It needs lots of listening sessions for sure.

This album is fucking phenomenal IMO, although I have the feeling most here will immediately dismiss this release. EOR has become pretty boring for me in the long run, I even got the remastered edition but production wasnt the reason for me disliking it. Right now this is my favorite Nevermore CD, but I have a feeling I'll still like Dreaming Neon Black the best in the end.

I'd say it's a combination of factors. I think that Smith not only contributes, but he probably makes Jeff push himself. Warrell's sobriety has got to be a positive factor. The whole debacle that was "Enemies" probably frustrated/inspired the band. Lastly, not having contract negotiations to do with, have probably allowed them to focus on the music.

no likey this band ... Sanctuary was better/catchier
Catchier? Perhaps. Not sure Nevermore is designed to be catchy. Better? Well, I suppose that's a matter of opinion. Have you heard the new one? If not, give it a spin. They might surprise you.

i heard the new one and numerous previous releases. don't know, they don't have that "entertainment" factor i need in my metal. they come across a little too serious in all aspects.
