Nevermore tone test

What do you think of my tone test? Trying to sound kinda like Nevermore's Dead Heart In A Dead World album. I used Thermionik with TSE X50v2.3 for noise gating and 808. I got the DIs and backing track from here.



For comparison, here is one with my Laney IRT Studio mic'd up.

me too. I think it fits better. It sounds much closer to the tone on that album. I really want to try different speakers in my Genz Benz Gflex 2x12 cab though. It has the stock custom Eminence speakers in it right now and I'm not a fan of that brand's speakers. I do like the Laney IRT Studio for 8 string guitar. It's a really tight amp. What do you think of the tones other than liking the amp sim better?

Both tones sound a tad overgained to me, they lose some of the definition of Jaymz' DI's.
