I don't necessarily disagree with you. However, just because someone isn't giving the band their undecided attention after minute 30, doesn't mean they won't hear a song at minute 46 and think to themselves, "Wow, this kicks ass.".Larf03 said:...Here's how the average brain works...

The difference, as you rightly pointed out, between their set opening for Dimmu and opening Gigantour, had less to do with set length and more to do with the band's intensity.
All that said, I find it strange that on a three band bill, the 2nd band isn't being given AT LEAST 45 minutes. That just seems strange to me. If there's only 30 minutes for each of the two opening bands, than why have two opening bands? It's not like Into Eternity is going to draw anyone to this show that wouldn't have gone anyway. Those guys have been on every single tour that's rolled through the east coast for the last 18 months. And as much as I dig IE's studio output, they just blow live.

Born
Acid Words
Bittersweet Feast
Seven Tounges of God
This Godless Endeavor
During Gigantour they rotated songs, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't do that on the Opeth tour.
You can have'em. I've seen them live three times, and they sucked every time. Keep in mind, I love thier last two CDs. Hopefully they'll be good this time around, but I doubt it. Their new singer is awful.Larf03 said:You guys get Into Eternity???

Oh, sorry, that's right, I was putting it down from memory and I've been getting those two confused on setlists ever since Gigantour's setlists came out.Vic Rattlehead said:If that's supposed to be the setlist from last night in Chicago you're a bit off, they played River Dragon Has Come instead of Seven Tongues of God.
Back in Gigantour, they always played one or the other, and I just kinda got them mixed up in my head. Will Bozarth said:how do you get Seven Tongues of God and River Dragon confused?
