Anybody care to rate the first Nevermore album compared to the others? I have all the albums (-all rule-) except the first but I am not sure if it is worth buying. I have heard it is not as technical and many of the ideas that define their music were not fully developed. Is this true? thanks for the help.

fantastic album

it has some definite classics there, actually pretty much every song (except maybe godmoney ...... :p )

It has great songs and is worth buying, but you have to take it for what is as their first album and not expect it to sound like Godless Endeavor or anything like that.

Nevermore's first album is excellent! if you have all the others i highly reccomend finding their debut. Like the above post said dont expect it to sound like enemies/this godless, but thats a good thing becuase it shows the foundations nevermore began and how they've evolved. Plus the Sanity Assassin, What Tommorow Knows, and Sea of Possibilities are excellent tracks... hell the whole cd is good go get it!

technical is so your not so sleepy, lyrics focus on alot of views which i like..it no extreme metal but for its time, it is a master pieceof abstract sublime.......

ENJOY SIR...

I dig the 1st album. You'll definitely hear the progression from the 1st on through their catalog. It cranks. A/S/A/ I heard JL's guitar style and WD's vocals, I was hooked. GET IT A/S/A/P. ...and as far as Godmoney, I dig that song! It's fast and grooves! The cd as a whole kills almost all competitors in its time...just not as much as the rest of their cds.

go buy it now! It was the first nevermore album I listened to and loved it!!! You'll find some fantastic technical guitar riffing and solos in there. Not to mention Warrel's psychotic screams! METAL!!!

Imagine an industry saturated by grunge, and shit rock...and then one day when reading Hit Parader...(yes, Hit Parader), you see a tiny ad for the former members from Sanctuary and thier new band Nevermore. What do you do???
Well, like any good metal head, I headed down to my local record store and forced the owner to get me a copy of thier self titled release "Nevermore".
I hounded him for 3 weeks until he got a copy, and it was bliss to my ears!!!
So if your a true fan you have to get this CD. It's were it all began, and one of the most important pieces of thier history. Awesome CD...2 DEVIL HORNS UP!!!

Nevermore + Hit Parader =

i don't think i've touched a copy of that magazine since i was 14. i used to read it and Metal Edge religiously, though. If not for Metal Edge, I wouldn't know Cara, and i wouldn't have heard Nevermore, and i wouldn't have wasted coountless hours of my life here...
