Nevermore's First Album

WOW!! I have been out of town for the weekend and thought I would see if anybody took the time to write a reply to my question. Thanks for all the replies. This is a great board. I thought I might have a few "Are you a @#$^ idiot?" and replies like what I saw on the old Opeth board. Thanks again...I will pick it up tomorrow...

Nevermore's first album is what got me into Nevermore.
it's my fav Nevermore album next to PoE.
:)

(I totally overused the name of the band...)

C.B.F. is still one of my favorite songs and is worth the price of the CD by itself - trust me. I actually listened to this the other day just for a change from TGE and Opeth, and I found myself rewinding the ending of C.B.F. over and over......

"and if you choose to live this way - I'll count the days 'til you're gone..."

It's a lot better than Enemies of Reality which is one of the most lackluster albums.

I have live video of the boys performing Garden of gray with female vocalists, yes plural singing backup.

I believe it was pre album deal if I am not mistaken.

The First album was a pretty good album. Like all the other albums you will find the band doing what they do best. Being the first album doesn't make it the worst. By far that goes to EOR. Well the first mix of it anyways, and even the worst is not that bad at all. But whatever you do, make sure you got a copy of "Godless Endevor*. Medacatded Nation ruled off that album. Anyways, Why does everyone hate GodMoney anyways? Also check out the Track *Tomathy* off the first album. Its sort of like Tyagonmen Man or whatever that track was named off of POE.

By the way, I didn't have any of these albums in front of me while writing this so my spelling is way off.

I'm still awaiting why folks don't like EOR. The original, i can understand somewhat, but the remix is killer. It's full of brilliant riffs, entertaining solos and blazing solos, killer vocals (for the most part) and the lyrics are a nice continuation of previous ideas.

Any suggestions why it gets bashed?

For the record though devilmanozzy, I like Godmoney, it's a decent track. And it was Timothy Leary (after the man himself) and Tiananmen Man (after the event at that Square in China) Both of which are kick ass songs :)

Not my favorite either, but still, its part of the collection, you HAVE to hear it, it's definately worth it. Theres such diversity in the album. Opens with some pretty good thrash, then into some progressive, then into some lighter material. After hearing all the other albums, you get to witness Warrel when he was still carrying his Sanctuary roots. It's nuts when you compare his singing from today and 10 years ago.

Anyway, my point is, the CD is great, it's worth picking up if for no other reason than its a Nevermore album and you havent heard it yet.
