Devil's advocate here....but I thought it was pretty commonly accepted that the last album was Morbid Angel-esque. If that is true, how is that not old school sounding?

What band do you want them to sound like?

Also, old thread is old.

Bloodbath is a Swedish death metal band, they are not from tampa thus they should sound like a swedish death metal band....

The Fathomless Mastery sounds like half of both scenes. I would not go as far as saying it sounds like a tampa bay DM album.

mostly comes across as a mesh between modern death metal and MA's domination album, with the occasional old school lead. oh, and the songwriting is weak as fakk

When Morbid Angel sounded like Morbid Angel, they were pretty fucking awesome. So I didn't hate that sound at all.
