New album Foregone out February 2023

If we ever needed proof that Phobiac is actually Bjorn...

I am surprised you managed to dupe as many as you did before someone noticed

Well, since Björn has admitted to having trolled people online before*, I think it's safe to say this is totally confirmed now.

*) He was involved in spreading rumors on members of In Flames and Soilwork having physically fought around the time the Trigger/Rejection Role videos were about to be released.

Chicago livestream set now on youtube. Setlist is great though i would swap Graveland with a different JR song.

Acoustic intro sounds interesting.

Stand Ablaze sounds awesome and thankfully intro solo was played right this time.

I've only watched up to Stand Ablaze so far, but I think they sound as good as they ever have, to be honest. The band are on point, the setlist is reflective of their whole catalogue, and Anders' growls elevate the newer material. I have nothing but good things to say. Peak In Flames in 2022.

(Okay, Anders didn't remember the words during Foregone - more like Forgotten Pt. 1)

Checked out a few songs. They sound super tight for sure. The Great Deceiver, Graveland, Stand Ablaze, and Scorn all sound great.

Foregone Pt. 1 sounds fantastic live. My opinion of it hasn't changed at all since its release. I love how Chris's solo compliments the darker vibe the song is going for, while Bjorn's adds kind of a hopeful/majestic twist to the whole thing.

I would say Anders only fucked up on Foregone, he just growl something, I guess new track hasn't settled with him yet. :D I watched most of the show and IF as whole was tight as fu. Really good performance by all of them.

And really enjoyed that moment from Björn and Chris at the end of the Wallflower. Bromance at its finest. :D

That really sounds neat, especially when compared to some of the older performances. I was especially surprised with Cloud Connected chorus, spot-on from the guys. I wasn't convinced to see them in November, now I know I certainly will.

Though I'll be disgusted if the intro is not on the album.

From IF's Q&A session, posted on reddit:

"Some dude asked during the Q&A if they would ever tour with Halo Effect and Anders just dead starred the guy and said, "No." It was a weird little tense moment. Not a question to ask in the future folks."

I don't think that it's just about Jesper. He doesn't seem to be friendly to the rest of the band. Still, I get why he doesn't want to tour with them.

It sucks if there's bad blood between them, especially after Jesper was really complimentary about the Foregone singles so far. I found that kinda heartwarming when I heard him say it.

Another post from reddit..

"Jesper and In Flames had a really big falling out. They tried so hard to help him with his alcohol problem. I actually got to talk to them and Neil (the old jesterhead fan club head guy) and they really just got fed up with him. So I dont think it's anything to do with Peter, Daniel or Niklas. They quit for Daniel to start his brewing company and Peter quit for same type of reasons and family. Don't really know why Niklas quit though. But I imagine they got the itch to be back on stage again. Neil called me one time when I was at the show, he knew my number from winning that contest. Anyways he called and asked if I wanted to come back stage. (I was in my spot in the front row to the right where I always am, so I was like nooooo. But fuck yes! Lol) anyways. This was kinda right after Jesper had made it official, that he was done and Niklas joined the band. I asked about Jesper and how he was doing and the mood immediately changed in the room. Like u could feel it. They just said he is doing OK and that was it....I took it as they didn't want to bash on him. Cause later Neil told me that Jesper had gotten really bad and pretty much ruined any chance of them even having a friend ship again, let alone him coming back to the band. He said basically you can only try to help someone so much and then you give up.....And kinda said it's not a subject they wanna talk about. This was many many years ago. So maybe they have become friends or social again. But even THE is saying they are going to have to do tours without Jesper. Which is sad. He is such a talented person and from when I got to hang out with him he seems to be a genuinely nice guy. (He stopped playing WoW for a min to talk to my friend on the phone haha) But yea I don't think it's THE that is the issue. I think its Jesper and they don't wanna be around that again for a whole tour. Just my thoughts on it and based on what I was told.

Peter let slip a few years back on FB that he had some issues with Anders. Nothing's come out about Daniel having any problems. With Niklas, who knows, strange situation.

If Jesper was as catastrophically bad as is being suggested in that post do we really think Mikael, Niklas, Peter and Daniel would join another band with him? In Peter's case twice? Bjorn has also said he's still friends with Jesper, so I'm basically calling bullshit on that post entirely as it doesn't tally up with reality.

That's not what they told me when they came to celebrate my birthday the past month.

No. Seriously. People reading stories online and sharing them as if they're evidence for shit. And then we wonder why there's so many people who thinks that the vaccines are going to turn the world population into zombies.

If I recall correctly, Jesper was the last member to be added to THE. So maybe even those guys were reluctant to bring him onboard.

I'm sure they had their concerns, but the idea that Jesper had behaved so horribly in the IF days that he "pretty much ruined any chance of them even having a friend ship again, let alone him coming back to the band" is clearly nonsense, as within 6 years he and Peter were in a band together, and he never stopped being friends with Bjorn.

As it was told by Peter, once that they joined THE, that was just Niclas and Mikael so far, the first thing that they said was that they needed Jesper on board. So, I don't think that they were reluctant in any way.
