New Amon Amarth Album

Death in Fire 2016 is awesome. I'm sure many will say it's "too clean" or "slick" but I really like the Andy Sneap treatment. Would love to hear all of Versus the World remastered like this.

I agree. Listened to both versions yesterday: The old one is more raw and "wild", the new one cleaner but more powerful as well.
I like especially the new drumsound and Johans vocals in Death in Fire 2016 better.

You know it's not a remaster right? It's a re-recording ^^ It is indeed very nice though, I also like it a lot with the cleaner sound, especially the guitars sound great.

Yes, thank you, that was what I had intended. It would be great if they went back in studio and re-recorded Versus the World. It is definitely one of their best albums and I was amazed at how everything sounded so much better in the new recording.

If anyone has the 2016 Death in Fire and wouldnt mind sending it, or knows where I can hear it please feel free :') I feel it should be on all versions of the album though.. why should I miss out cause I didnt buy a f*cking japanese version?

A recent interview with Tobias Gustafsson in a Swedish newspaper:

He was treated and acted like a full time member of the band under the Jomsviking session.

He wrote all the music to the song "Vengeance is my name".

Out of personal reasons he did not become a member of the band.

I don't mean to purposefully come here just to promote my tabs, but I feel this is an important one :p

I've tabbed the 2016 Death In Fire re-recording.

While people may think 'big deal, there are loads of DIF tabs'.. they all have quite a lot of things wrong. I've been wanting to tab this song for years (as I was playing it wrong thanks to the wrong tabs for years) but the current tabs have maaaany votes (all of 5 * for some reason) and I didnt see much point. So now I had an excuse :D and my tab has everything correct that is wrong on the old tabs, and the new bits too. Solo is slightly different to the original too.

So yeah.. if you play guitar, and think you know Death In Fire already because you learned it years ago from the tabs (like I did) - go see my tab and re-learn it the correct way!
(and please rate if you can :) )

I learn a lot from you tabs and i find them to be correct most of the times, but sometimes i wonder how some parts can be played! like for example the intro to Back On Northern Shores! that's just impossible for me to play that way!

Now i'm learning One Thousand Burning Arrows from your tab! it's sounds easy but it's quit a challange in some parts :D

Haha, it's a tricky tapping section, for sure! I assume you have guitar pro seeing as you use my tabs, so what I would advise is set the speed to 0.50x to begin with and play along to it on that. Once you get comfortable at that speed, put it up to 0.75x, then again to full speed - but ONLY when you're 100% comfortable at the slower speeds first. ;)

Just as my music-specialist comment! I REALLY LIKE YOUR ALBUM. Especially the VIDEO "at dawns first light". But the dynamics and power like in "war of the gods" is just missing... I hope everyone will recuperate to that powerfull and just much more sportive musicway, but in a evolutionary way... Despite that- it's just a point of reality! I like to have releases like this, that i can think about that, with my personal and current standing... But, i have not listened to every song yet...
