~Does anyone know where I can pick up the new Annihilator Waking the Fury? Their website mentions it's release in late March but nothing else. Where can I find it, is it released in the US domestically yet? Help.

I have listened their three older albums. I think that Alice in Hell and Never Neverland are great albums, but Set the world on fire is really bad, they palyed a commercial heavy metal, that's why i never wnated to listen any other annihilator album.

Maybe they've change their style and recover their original sound...

yes, but it sucks. Listen to it first...it is universally hated. If you like it, then go for it (http://www.theendrecords.com has it, last I checked), but I would strongly suggest listening to it first. Btw, I am a long-time Annihilator fan; I liked the last 3 releases (even "Remains"), but I am not going to get Waking the Fury.

That's a shame. How is Curran Murphy's contributions on the latest??? I'm curious to hear his work on disc.

It's hard to tell who's doing what, really. They each play leads and rhythm at different points. The guitar tone is the worst part about the CD; it sounds awful (really scratchy and annoying). Other than that, the music is really similar to Refresh the Demon or King of the Kill...nothing new. I might have gotten it if the guitar tone wasn't so bad, but I still would've had to think about it 'cause it is just more of the same.

~Well I'm really not expecting too much, having a new drummer is enough for me. Frankly I think that Refresh the Demon is their most boring album, and yes I've heard all of them. I don't expect them to come back thundering like Testament, it's just good to hear them still blazing even though times are so bad.

Waking The Fury kicks ass. It is a different sound for Annihilator, but it is great. It certainly is not "universally hated". Get real.

My Precious Lunatic Asylum is awesome. Slam your head into the monitor stuff!

Remember when Testament came out and there wasn't really anything that you could relate them to? They were thrash of course, but no other band was doing what they were doing. That's the new Annihilator CD to me. Nothing quite like I've heard before, but it is damn sure wide open metal.

To attempt to answer the question about Curran, he plays two solos, but I can't remember which songs. Sorry. I'll find out and post back though.

Here's what Curran had to say about the solos he played on Waking The Fury

"I get to play solo's on Blackest Day, the little straight note thing in there, I play solo mania on Lunatic, after each verse all of the Whammy bar crazy stuff, and I also a bunch of nightmare whammy pedal and minor second dissonant solo stuff on Prime Time Killing!!! I love to hurt people with my Guitars!!!!!!!!!!"
