Hi guys,

enjoy this new one!
this one is cross-platform. it's just a method and the idea behind is important, doesn't matter what daw or interface you're using.

very informative and clear video, like usual!

I was going to suggest to sticky this, but then I noticed it already is in the drum humanizing post :)

thanks a lot for this video! before i saw this, i never really thought aboud giving the snare some body by compressing the room. needlessly said, i subscribed.

LOL :-D im doing it almost the same way... im using M-audio keystudio 49i ... It has built in direct monitor (routes mic & instrument inputs directly back to headphones output) and in the daw I set Delay and reverb just the way you do. Until i found this method I had real problems recording vocals with low latency. Just wanted to show its really cross-platform solution.

Really cool, but I dont like the workflow moving the audio events after every take.
I work in Cubase 6...isn't it possible to monitor only the sends of a track instead the output?
The only possibility would be to route the output to stereo out or no output after every take, right?

i know that's kind of annoying. but once you get the hang of it, it becomes like an automatism. and it's just for vocals.

it's a bit annoying for you but it's so much better for the singers.

cubase has macros right ? maybe you could write one like :
after recording stops, grab recently recorded region and drop to the track just under it.

just an idea. i am no cubase specialist.

actually what would be great is to mute the send when it's recording.
so the singer doesnt the monitoring from pro tools during recording.
but yeah there is no way you can automate that AFAIK. at least in pro tools. i guess reaper can do that :D
