This isn't oldschool, it isn't exactly powermetal, it isn't exactly prog-metal, it isn't exactly anything, but cool. This forum has been crawling lately, so I thought maybe this will liven it up.

The song is completely prog-metal, right down to the "social commentary" album cover. The song is pretty good though, some nice riffing going on.

I don't doubt the band is a more or less a prog band. I pulled this link from the progpower USA board. The prog crowd over there is the vocal majority. The song itself certainly has many prog elements, but isn't over the top and has great guitar riffs and a really good singer as well. I don't run into much prog-metal that doesn't sound like four or five guys each playing a different song. If more prog-metal bands sounded like this, then I would like a lot more prog-metal bands. You don't have to listen to the song ten time to "get it" so this is "lite-prog-metal" I guess. I dig it though. I may buy the release.
