New collab project - Kemper content

Cool tone man but unfortunatley you dont need a kemper to get that tone these days any good amp software sim with the right engineer at the Helm can acheive this :)

Very cool production though , Great engineering & playing friend:)

Well, thanks! :) It's not me playing lead though on this one though, just wrote the backing and did the rest of the instrumentation / production.

Yeah I certainly don't think you need any new-fangled piece of gear to get good tones, haha. Just my first semi finished mix using this particular unit. I do think it's an awesome tool and the easiest and most fun to use amp sim i've yet tried!

Really cool song and mix.

Cheers!

Sounds good. Who's the lead player?

What do you think of the effects compared to the Axe-FX II? Are they comparable?

Thanks! You'll see soon enough ;)

In terms of quality I think they are comparable, not in terms of quantity or tweakability. I'm not often a super heavy effects user though so I might be the wrong person to ask. They have added a number of new FX in updates as well so I imagine that trend will continue. For my needs I'm satisfied, I can add anything else in the DAW, although a pitch shifter would be nice.

After listening to this track more carefully I must say I don't really give a fuck if the kemper or the mix sound good (although you could definitely afford to lower the lead guitar a bit), it's the song that really kicks ass (and that's always what really matters in the end, for me at least). Definitely one of the best instrumental songs I've heard. That main melody/harmony at 01:06 is amazing.

Cheers! Yeah I totally agree. The production should only serve to enhance what is there and give it the requisite power and clarity, without any overtly annoying elements to distract the listener from the music. If that happens, mission accomplished!

The leads are up there for sure but the guitarist likes it this way. If it was me personally I would probably blend them in a bit more, but on the other hand I do like how you can clearly hear every pick stroke ripping your face off!

There will be a jam track backing version available without leads at some point for people to shred over as well!

Shred'n!

Not completely sold on the rhythm tone but I'd have to hear it without the leads to really say anything. They are loud

Kemper mania!!! Jeez all you guys are nabbing these.

I posted an update with just the rhythms solo'd. I think I helped talk Jeff into getting his, hopefully he likes it so he doesn't rue the day I was born! :P

Sounds really good on my massive DELL comp speakers at work - sparkling highs, enough scooped mids and a good amount of saturation. Me likes. What profile did you use?
