NEW Countryman Type 10

Does anyone have one of these yet?

I'm about to get one for getting the signal from my 6505s speaker output to use with impulses. The cheap box I'm using right now sounds ok, but I'm extremely curious what getting an upgrade will do.

I briefly tried these, and the difference to Type 85 was about non existing sound wise. Or atleast so small that it doesn't really matter in a mix. The pad choises were better tho (-15/-30dB instead of -20/-40dB), atleast imo.

I just got one in. I am blown away. It makes an enormous difference in my setup.

I don't have a type 85 to compare it to so anything I say is useless to the people who have one haha.

..and what is your setup signal flow?

TS9>6505+ speaker out>Type 10>XLR out to interface and thru goes to a cab for a reactive load

That chain is actually one of the examples in the info on their site.

When I plug the guitar into the type 10 and use it for getting the clean signal for reamping etc. the signal is really clean and clear.

From the poweramp section into the DI and then Interface??? This is possible?
Always uses the FX send for this.

Yeah, with this baby it is.. Ive tried Line out vs speakern out comparision and speaker+recab seems to be too much of the good, so far ive got better results with Line out from amp, but ive only tried with my laney vh100r tho

Ive always thought about it.. what ohmage are you supposed to set the amp to when using the countryman as load? Is this electronically behaving like a speaker so the precious little amp baby wont get hurt?

The Type 10 is not a load. I have a speaker cab connected to the "thru" jack. The DI passes the power and the load to that jack.

The speaker out is without a doubt the best sounding output of the amp.

The resonance and presence controls are also effective when you do it that way. For the impulses I use(catharsis) the presence and resonance knob were set when the impulses were recorded so I have to have them both all the way down. For a lot of impulses that were made using other methods the controls come in handy.

Speaker Out--> Input---Thru--> Cab and XLR Out to Interface?

Yes.

I don't know the answer for sure but I think that one looks like it can.

The diagram shows the in connected to the thru. The -40db switch kind of indicates that they may have intended it to handle it.

I checked the cheap one I was using with a multimeter before I plugged it in and fired up the amp. I just plugged the cab in and got a reading from the lead plugged into the "THRU" jack. Or you could just try it and see what happens haha.
