New Dan Nelson Interview

Seems pretty genuine to me. I like Dan, seems like a great guy and I'm bummed things didn't move ahead with him and Anthrax. Why the fiction comment? What do you know that no-one else does?

Trust me, I wouldn't make spurious claims about anything on here.

This interview laughs in the face of truth.

It looked to me, judging from a few interviews towards the end of Dan's time with the band, that Dan was drinking WAY too much - the excess of the road was getting to him, like it does to many people new to serious touring (happened to a good friend of mine in a similar situation and this strikes me as very similar). The person gets a great gig, and think they are invincible and then proceed to drink way too much. Anthrax probably made the decision that it just wasn't going to work, he was embarrasing them in interviews, and collectively made the decision to end the relationship while they were on their way to Rocklahoma. Which is why they avoided him - they wanted to get the gig done and end the relationship (and there was supposedly a fight after that show too, or at least rumors of one).

I was embarrassed for them:

"Whiskey!"
"Metal!"
"Do you like whiskey?!"
"Do you like metal?!"

Followed by shadow puppets.

Kudos to Dan. He kept it professional and diplomatic. He never once bitched or moaned about the events that we will never really know about. Two sides to every story mind you.

As he said. Time to move on and move forward.

Peace out.

Yep...but you can't leave your past to the past if there are unexplained issues...like this one...someone's story is not waterproof...(as we say in Finland).

T:)

i just dont fuckin care. dan go do something else man, whatever the universe has got in store for you next. Anthrax get in the studio and get that record into my muddy fuckin paws!

...well yeah.

To me it is kinda funny that Dan keeps praising his own stage presence...what I've seen from YouTube clips is that he made moves like Phil Anselmo and put his foot on monitor...his voice is great, he looks good, but I think stage presence is what he lacked. Some may call it charisma...

T:)

Sounds like a pretty honest interview. There are things we will never know. All I know is how many people do you know that Dan has fucked over? How many people do you know that Anthrax has fucked over? There is our answer. I don't feel Dan was a proper fit musically but that is besides the point. The answer is in the track record!

Dan is a poser who likes to pat himself on the back. The dude severely lacks originality.Good riddance.

I though Dan did the Belladonna stuff really well (I preferred him to Belladonna, cuz I've never really enjoyed his voice). I didn't like Dan on the John Bush stuff (though he did tear Random Acts a new one, loved that), and I though he was decent live on the new songs they played. I was going to give him a chance once the studio stuff came out. But I know I never would have liked him as much as John Bush, so I'm glad things turned out the way they have.

Jon Bush and Belladonna were original vocalist.Dan nelson has a very unoriginal sounding vocal style and a boring stage presence.

Did anyone else notice the awkwardness surrounding the lawsuit questions? Also, the interview left his own comment about how he will never interview Dan again.

Here is the comment. lol
Robert Gray :
I'll just pre-empt this interview by saying Dan Nelson isn't nice in any sense of the word, and I will never interview him again. I won't go into specifics of why I feel this way, but let me just say that I believe the ones telling the truth are Anthrax. And if he makes up lies about me or threatens to sue me for making this post, **** him.
