New DANDELIUM album teaser, 30 secs with full choir.

^ Agree a bit much on the chorus...kinda fluxuates away from the atmosphere of the other instruments and sounds unbalanced

Hey!

Thanks for the replies guys ;)

The choir is my singer and me , we had 6 tracks recorded:

- my singer's main voice
- my singer's harmony
- me, main voice (as high as her's), mixed low
- me, harmony
- me, one octave lower, most of the choir
- me, two octaves lower, mixed pretty loud.

All processed with different plugins to make it sound more like a choir, and with a big buss reverb.

Don't worry about the cloudiness of the mix, as it's an already-mastered mp3 with vocals on top and limited again  (my CPU would die if I recorded the vocals in the same project where I have the mix itself), I'll mix things later accordingly to the amount of elements sounding at the same time .

Really sounded a bit washy, but if you say it's just to try out the Choir (which sounds awesome imo, really awesome) it's gonna kick some ass.
Did you pitch the deep ones down, or are you able to sing as deep as a motherfucker can sing? lolz

Of all the songs that you've posted here, this one's the best imo. My only complaint would be about the tightness of the guitars in the main riff when you play hammer on/pull of stuff (might be something else but hopefully you got my point)

The final choir sounds much better.

Choirs to me need to have a lot of high end, when I'm recording my 80+ versions of me, I HP them so they sit a little better.

What is that snare?!

Everything sounds really cool.. Very unique. However, it sounds pretty copy+paste in sections.

LOVE the drums.

Mate, how DO you get that guitar tone, it's amazing! Are you using sims and impulses? What ones and what settings are you using and are you quad tracking, panning hard left & right or 2 left and right and 2 nearer the middle? What guitar and pickup did you use for the song and what equipment/preamp are you recording into?

I'm not trying to steal anyone's tone secrets, I've just never heard amp sims sound as good as that and I'm curious as to how it's achieved!

There is a lovely twang on the guitars as well as a nice even and very clear "Grrrrrr" on the open power chords which I can't seem to get.

Great stuff!
