New DISSECTION sample

Very mid-paced cool drumming, the melody is pretty cool in the intro (almost Iron Maiden'ish harmonies)....and then the verse riff is very simple. The sample is less than a minute long, but I suspect that people don't like it because it's not blastbeat fury, or the fact that the verse riff is pretty 'dumbed down'.

There is no way in hell that I would pass judgement on a sample that short. At minimum, I'm intrigued to hear more.

Whoa, it's death n' roll. Ooooooh but that lead is sweeeeeeeeet.

I dunno, it doesn't sound like Dissection except the lead. I hope the song opens up, this short sample is such a tease.

Okay after two listens it's stuck in my head, on the third I'm thinking YESSS!!!

I'm also thinking a lot of Dissection fans looking for Storm of the Light's Bane II will be disappointed if this is the direction the new material is headed in.

I don't think it's very good, but the final verdict will only come when I've heard more stuff. MAHA KALI DIED(?) MOTHER DANCE FOR ME, LET THE PURITY OF YOUR NAKEDNESS AWAKEN ME, YOURS ARE THE FIRES DELIVERANCE WHICH SHALL BRING ME BLISS, YOURS Are the cruelest of hearts bla bla bla

I wasn't expecting SOTLB Pt. II, but I was expecting something good...and that's not what I got. I wonder how it took him 7 years to write something like that :erk: . If the rest of the song/single/album sounds anything like that Dissection is dead.

For most of the bands it would sound retarded but in the Dissection's case this is the only way to go

Oh come on... it is a MINUTE-LONG clip! Don't start the "woe is me, RIP Dissection" thing just yet.

I'm going to laugh when all the Johnny Come Lately fanboys cry about this album over the next several months.

Hey, it's not bad. The only problem I have with it is the single-note bass playing I guess. Feels like it cries out for more of a galloping sound. This song kind of reminds me of Where Dead Angels Lie, in that it could be the focus for a slower tempo point on the album.

What about the video, what's it about? I don't have quicktime.

I didn't like it. Here are my reasons:

1. The first 10-15 seconds sound like something Meshuggah, or all those oh-so-technical type bands might play. And I'm not a fan of those bands.
2. It doesn't sound like Dissection at all. It's not creepy like SotLB or Somberlain. The melody sounds like something from old In Flames.
3. His vocals. What happened to the icy, chilling rasp he had for SotLB? Been sucking on too many cocks or what?

I saw someone describe it as old in flames mixed with the Dissection we're used to, fairly accurate as a one-line review I'd say.
It doesn't feel haunting or evil or cold or anything at all like that, but like I said earlier I will wait until I hear more before I decide.

it would suck if this whole legendary return simply yeilded in a below average quality demo. but this sample... its pretty cool. it lacks the old feeling though!
