might as well cover the rest of the stuff:

death is no longer a band, but they ended their career on nuclear blast, so roadrunner only has some of their earlier stuff (same with suffocation i believe... i think i see where you're going)

megadeth sucks balls now. World needs a hero and system has failed has some decent metal on it, but shitty megadeth. Sepultura... well, no need to mention what they've become but still, SPV band now.

Roadrunner had a LOT of good stuff back in the day. Morbid Angel, Type O Negative, Death, King Diamond, Mercyful Fate... but they are now but a shadow of what they once were. Shit label now. Good for them for signing with RR, but that doesn't change that RR thinks they know the music scene better than they actually do.

Well there is a bright side to them signing to Roadrunner, they'll actually still have promotion in the US. I mean, if they signed to SPV or something, SPV would be all like "HERE YOU GO EUROPE!!! TAKE ALL YOU WANT!!! Oh yeah, and leave just a bit for the US."

As long as it's more interesting than Octavarium I'll be happy. I'm glad I don't feel the need to speculate - I'll just wait while they create then hopefully appreciate. Great.

I dunno, Roadrunner didn't kill Opeth. I though Ghost Reveries was a good album...

ghost reveries is a good album.. its just been hard for alot of people to get into because its so different from their usual style.. but as mentioned before none of that had anything to do with roadrunner.. p.s.. they are starting work on a new album.. YAY!!!!

to those you who hate Nightwish I don't see why, they're a very decent band! And id it wasn't for the bore of power metal in it it would be rather tasteful! I mean lets be realistic, saying nightwish sucks is meerly opinion, but sadly the facts would prove that only to you they suck! Nightwish is a huge band with a huge fan bases I mean massive! And bands like Nightwish/EPICA are the bands that are making metal more mainstream (and in a good way not a sellout way) so I think we should perhaps give them kudos for letting the world know that metal rocks! Now I do listen to Nightwish, but not on a regular bases every one and a while I pull out the old cd and give it a listen...

The only redeming factor of nightwish at this point is Marco, but i have Tarot for that so it's not important to me. Though if marco sang full time for nightwish, i'd listen to them way more. I don't see why they need some gothy chick for vocals.

No, nightwish has gone to crap. They've basically become a heavy pop band over the last 2 albums. I like Oceanborn and Wishmaster (never have cared to listen to angels fall first, and it's not high on my priority list). Century Child has some good, catchy songs, but Tarja's voice and vocal approach changed to a "softer" sound and it started to become glorified pop. Once is just terrible. The mainstream can have them.

The only good thing about Nightwish to me is Tuomas. I don't know exactly how good of a player he is, but his writing is pretty damn good. Ghost Love Score is the only reason I even picked up Once. I downloaded the song, and hoped that the resto of the album would be similar, but nay.

Wishmaster is a badass song, but ever since I saw the misheard lyrics video on youtube, I swear to god, I can't take it seriously.

I wouldn't get my hopes up too far yet...I have to wonder how good a job that new drummer will do in filling in for López, as to me he was an integral part of the Opeth sound.

López is one of my biggest influences when it comes to writing on the drums. His stuff is just NUTS.

dunno if they will be using the same fill in drummer as the one they used on the tour here to aus, but that guy was dead on - i was extremely impressed. the only way i could tell it wasnt lopez was by looking at him, soundwise he was fantastic..at least thats what i thought.. however, yes lopez was a big part of opeth and his drumming was sensational.. he will be sorely missed in the band
