Doesn't look like this is gonna be one for us to be honest. From the video there he says "it's sounding very bluesy" and on the video on the Engl site there's "and you can see how it's not a heavy metal amp"
Gutted, a high gain mini Engl would have been sweet!
No it IS definitely a high gain amp!!!
First of all listen closer and he actually says "you can see how it's not JUST a metal amp"... It's actually voiced more like the fireball than the thunder but will be a cross between the screamer and the fireball in sound and versatility.
I actually messaged ENGL around 12 months back and gave them the idea to make one and gave them suggestions and it turned out pretty much like spot on to what I and many others wanted!
Can't wait to get one! The Krank Jr amps were shit way too noisy and harsh! Believe me I have tried every lower wattage tube head! The Tiny Terror and the Koch Studiotone are the only good mini tube amps at 15-20 watts that do a good high gain metal sound... Now we have a 3rd!!
You will not be disappointed by this amp ...So buy this amp! You know you want to The Studiotone will still be a slightly nicer sounding amp but it's 3 x the price and the Gig Master will have that trademark brutality that is known as ENGL all within a nice compact package!
Can't wait!!
