Picked myself up a Jackson Demmelition. It's a real sweet playing guitar, need s a bit of an adjustment to counteract a bit of fret buzz, but apart from that it's absolutely killer! Real effortless guitar to play. It has an EMG 81 in the bridge and an EMG 60 in the neck. I'm not the biggest fan of EMG's, I'm definitely a passive kinda guy, but I think while all that wiring's in there I may try a an 85 and an SD Blackout in the bridge (I do quite like the 60 in the neck, very smooth). Do Blackouts offer a big difference over EMG's, or is it neglegible?

Wow, awesome!
I've tinkered with the idea of getting one for a while but I've never seen one over here and I'm generally not a floyd guy... my loss I guess.

Can't help you with the pickups because I'm not a fan of actives at all.

I'm not really a floyd guy either, but it's the most steady trem I've ever played with. I think it's a korean Floyd Rose, but it's real good. Personally, I'd wait til NAMM comes around to see what Jackson bring out, but it'll be a long wait. Here's hoping for string-thru Jap KV

cool.

I'm still searching for someone to trade my SD SH-6 or my JAckson J50b for an 81 ;)

Hey, I was reading the 81/85 Shootout thread by Metaltastic and saw that Bloodjinn has 3 EMG 81's he's trying to get rid of or trade. Hope this helps.

NICE axe man. Purdy guitar... That red looks really tasty. I'm always scared that if I get a guitar like that I would bang it up with all the sharp edges! You buy it new or used?

She's brand spankin new! And I'm kinda concerned about knocking it, chipping it, etc, but that ain't gonna stop me using it everywhere it'll physically fit! I had an accident in my car thanks to black ice (stupid winter), and this thing doesnt even fit on the back seats of the rental car I have... I had to fold the rear seats down to fit it in the car, so my 4x12 definitely ain't goin in!
