Toying around with some more new designs.

This is my favorite. Corners may not be quite as sharp when all is said and done.

This one facilitates a bolt-on design, but still with unimpeded access. But I'd do it in set and thru-neck also.

The geometry isn't quite right on the inline headstock...but that's pretty close.

The idea for this design was to do something a little bit different, a little modernized, but still tasteful. Something with a little more identity too.

Im glad you are not going crazy with the headstock like most luthiers :)
Jackson SLS's headstocks are nice too.

Edit:  The second guitar has that headstock..

Honestly Will!I think the guitars you are building now, with the big aper horn and the pointy as fuck headstock are just magnificent.I wouldn't change the design.

i would give it a caparison's devils tail headstock and extend the neck and build a baritone set to drop c or drop b constantly (after all if you play metal then build an axe thats tuned to perfection for that style) - also another caparison design thing you could do is make it a 24-27 fret neck and your drop tuning & baritone style would allow for correct pitching of the higher notes past the 2nd octave

e - 24 fret
a - 24 "
d - 24 "
g - 25 "
b - 26 "
e - 27 "

I want to offer this with either the 3+3 or the inline, and I've refined the inline a little bit, and I've also tweaked the body shape a great deal, I don't know how obvious that will be. Here are some better pictures using my new software!

Really nice.

I still prefer the old shape, but this is actually really good.
Dunno about the headstock though. It kinda reminds me....BC Rich

What software are you using for these Will?

Are you gonna do also V's, LP's, Explorer's in the future?

I doubt I will ever do a single cut guitar. I considered it for a while and even tried to work out a design, but they're just not to my tastes.

I'd like to do a V design someday, I don't know about an Explorer...

To do a bevel of uniform angle and width all around the back like that, would you mark off the inside edge with pencil then carve by hand or can it be done with a router and/or power sander somehow? I was staring at an SG this weekend wondering how it was done before CNC machines.
