New guy. Freeware setup?

Hi im new. I would like to start trying my hand at mixing. Is there any good freeware stuff out there that i can use to get descent quality out of. I would prefer freeware at the moment as if i suck at doing it then i dont lose any money.

Mostly after good freeware plugins.

Give Reaper a try. It's amazing and can be used for free. If you like it and stick with it you can buy a license for $60, but you can try it forever uninhibited. It also includes tons of great plugins. Everything you'll need to get started and a lot that you'll keep using.

After spending 100's on other DAW's and plugs, I'm going with Reaper. Since version 3 came out, I totally love it.

Woah, this looks pretty cool!

I especially like their "No Intrusive Copy Protection" blurb and "Honest Business Model" approach. That is pretty awesome.
