New beta out today and I'm sure this will make alot of people happy! :kickass:

"Improved Profiling:

We have analyzed and revised the profiling algorithm. This has led to the following two improvements:

Due to a software flaw from day one, a number of existing profiles feature a little too much energy in the region below 60 Hz, when compared to the original amp. The effect is very subtle and the basic character of the profile is generally not affected. Nonetheless, we have taken the opportunity to correct this with the latest firmware. The result is an increased authenticity, even of profiles created previously, and an improved performance - especially when played through a speaker system with a linear response down to the lowest frequencies, such as a PA, or studio monitor system.

Since we know that sonic improvements are not necessarily perceived as such by those who are familiar with the original sound, we have also added an option to compare the two versions, and to disable the correction if desired. Go to page 8 in the System Menu and activate softbutton “LFC Off”. It will illuminate to show the correction is disabled. If pressed again, the frequency correction will be reactivated. The correction (or its cancellation) will be applied globally, and not on a per-rig basis. Please be aware that a reset of global parameters (“Init Globals”) will bring the frequency correction back into effect. Profiles captured by this or future firmware version will take full advantage of this improvement. When you disable the frequency correction, this will only affect profiles created using earlier firmware version.

In response to some users complaining about a lack of bass response when a tube amp is profiled, we have found a way to improve the profiling algorithm. You will notice that less effort is needed in the profiling refinement procedure, as well as a moderate improvement in authenticity, even without refining. Although this improvement also affects the bass response of profiles, it is not related to the improvement described above. Please note: this improvement will only affect new profiles captured by the latest firmware. Existing profiles and rigs will not be affected, and will keep the sound that you are familiar with."

Nice! I also like that the profile switching is supposed to be even faster, that was a (minor) annoyance for me because I need to switch fast and very often.

Version 2.6.0 is a feature update which allows you to switch rigs faster, features improved Profiling and refines the interaction in between Kemper Profiler® and Rig Manager.

Other changes and refinements include:
Recalling a rig has been accelerated
Improved support for "Gordius" foot controller
Improvement to low frequency response (“LFC”)
Improvements to communication and appearance with Rig Manager
Tuner page waits a little time to chime in when volume pedal is set to zero.
Direct Output performs spillover when set to Master Output
Main Output EQ works with all Output Sources with the exception of “Git”

This is a pretty good update - stoked to try it! The one I'm really waiting for is delay in stomp positions and the ability to edit rigs from the rig manager, but both of these have been pretty much given the ultimate German "We will tell you what features are important or not, the product doesn't lack features, it just doesn't have things you don't need" response by CKemper.

Have you been playing with the Mac version of the Rig manager? I didn't even notice it was out til just now.

Yeah, it rules but it's super limited. Being able to double click profiles and play them without transferring to the KPA is awesome, as is being able to rename profiles, but not being able to change settings from the computer is stupid.

i can edit many profiles at the same time with rig manager..but im on windows ;)
sometimes it did not work connected to rig exchange.
try disconnect...drag profiles to a folder...select the ones to edit...edit tadaaa. drag them back to kpa if needed :)

You can't activate stomps or FX blocks, change cabs, etc. from the manager, and not being able to do it in real time defeats the purpose entirely.

Ooooooo... looks promising.... Can someone do a recording of switching between rigs with this new firmware so we can hear how quickly it is? During a sustained chord would be best. Basically wanna get a sense of whether there are gaps of silence or whether it would ruin a live transition by cutting off the onset of notes.

(yes I'm anal about that!)

i havnt updated yet to the latest fw beta, as i wait until the final firmware is out, but i dont remember having any noticable "gap" when i switch profiles on the previous firmware on my kemper, but, what annoys me is the delay between switching from the actual moment when i push the button on the kemper front panel or the midi foot controll, it feels like about half a 20-40ms of delay till the actual sound switches.
so i´m also very curious about the new firmware for faster switching between profiles :)
yay

Had a mess around with the new firmware last night (no clips sorry)

Switching the LFC on definitely improves the low end to my ears, there's less of it (at least in that 60hz sub region) which to me makes it sound more like a real amp does in the low end,

Not tried the patch switching or improvements to profiling yet.

the problem was a lot of sub lows and not enough lows too. I havent had the chance to try it out yet so i was wondering if besides cleaning up the sub lows, the profiling (or profiles with LFC) have more lows as well (in the right area IOW). Can anybody clarify?

It's two separate things, for two separate issues:

LFC - Apparently a lot of people have found an excessive amount of sub-60Hz going on. This corrects it, but is switchable if you were happy with your sound already.
Profiling - This is a change to the profiling algorithm for that not-quite-right low/mid response people have found when A/Bing. It will only affect profiles made with the 2.6 firmware.

maybe I'm gonna do a little test on monday...profile a setup with the one before 2.6, then update the thing and profile the same setup with 2.6...should be interesting, altho I always was happy the way the kemper interpreted the setup. I never got it to sound as identical as Lasse did, that slight off thing in the lows (lack thereof) and that bit more forwardness/squishyness in the mids was there most of the time.
Usually I thought that it made the tracks work better, so I don't know how to feel about this update
But since it never was a night and day thing between profile and mic it should be ok non the less ;)
