New little snippet

I've been trying to get my drums sounding better recently. It's Metal Foundry with a snare from NY Avatar set and a bass drum sample from here. Are the toms too quiet? Also, is the hi-hat clipping or something? Sounds kind of weird to me.

bass guitar is just way to loud and clicky. overwhelms the mix big time imho. it just buries everything. i think thats the bass making all that noise?? drums sound pretty solid just need to be brought out in the mix

Thanks, man. It's hard to judge bass volume without proper monitors; I think the clicky sounds are caused by my picking, though. Should I try to EQ it some to fix that?

im no expert at this but it sounds like your mix is pumping probably due to a compressor or limiter...bass is way too loud

Could be that it`s actually clipping. Maybe inbetween two plugs in your fx chain.
