I'll never understand how bands used to have such awesome cover arts can fall so low. Eye of the beholder and shit, but still... If I didn't know Mastodon and was still into blind buys, I would sign up for Remission + Leviathan based on the art, but that shit? gimme a break...

I always felt the band was very tongue-in-cheek about EVERYTHING but delivered so it doesn't fully come across that way ... probably why I am not a big fan

hmm yeh im not so sure about that cover, supposedly its carved from wood but it definitely looks like some playmobil shit.

the song titles are pretty goofy too. im hoping theyre just having some 'fun' after completing their whole elements cycle/serious lyrics and song titles, and this isnt some kind of drastic shift to silliness.

not sure how a beast that ugly could be screaming 'sellout' to anyone though, their other covers definitely fit much better into the recent style of sludge/post-whatever type bands for this to be some kind of 'marketing' decision?
