new mix for critique

i recorded this about a year so ago with the OCD boosted JCM800


Since i have been working on my mixing the last week i decided to pull it back up and redo the drum sounds with Steven Slate's kick and snare

I also busted out some parallel compression ( i like it ) on the entire kit


I re-eqed the bass guitar and guitar tracks. The guitar tone actually sounded better before i EQed and compressed...but what the hell, im trying to find a way to make it all fit together. the guitars might be too trebley, i cant really tell on these speakers


Anyway, my monitors dont have a great bass response...and my regular computer speakers have this fuckin mid spike. They are the most unflat speakers iv heard except for a cell phone. Anyway, hows it sound on your system?


(yeah...uh sorry about timing. i dont know wtf happend there)

The usual....opinions and suggestions are much appreciated, as I am just learning all this stuff

Sounds great but bass is too low in the mix. Bringing it up will also fix the "guitars seem too trebley" thing i guess.
Sounds very Down-ish, which i like.

Raise the bass and you'll be fine. Post entire songs please after !

Bass is too low?...man I need some better monitors. Ill raise them today and re-post it.

btw Its not a whole song...i was just f'ing around one day. I do like it though and want to finish it. I love the guitar tone too, too bad i dont have that amp anymore

does the new version jive with ya?

i dont think the bass and the guitars fit together as far as EQ, but i dont know how to fix that

Sounds perfect now. I wouldn't change anything.

Just make a song out of it and call Phil Anselmo
