New mix vs old (30 second tester)

Hey,

I was mixing a track for my band and I came across the old version of the mix. I thought that I should make an effort to try to improve it and this is what I came up with:

The Old track has more emotion and a greater sense of "Woa! Power".

The New track sounds generally better and tighter than the old, but loses that sense of "Woa!" and emotion.

So basically the point of the thread is to get you guys to first see which one you prefer and then secondly how I could bring back some of that something that is missing.

Enjoy!

**EDIT**

The old mix is just superior to the new one in every way, so now I would like to change the thread from a comparison of the new and old (which you are still welcome to do by the way) into more of a how can I improve the old one, what would you do if you were giving the files so to speak.

Any freq cuts?
More or less compression?
Any volume changes?
Etc etc

sounds really similar to eachother. Im not sure what you mean by woa and power

It sounded pretty beefy to me, but I've got a lot to learn... I thought that it had a "greater sense of power" meaning it was heading in the right direction somewhere, to getting some power into it. Also, by saying "a greater sense of power" it still holds correct as long as the old mix sounded more powerful than the new one, regardless of whether in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't actually sound that powerful. :D

And thanks to the others for choosing the old one.

Thanks guys!
